STEM - Science, technology, engineering and mathematics

Kids are naturally curious about the world around them. This digital microscope is perfect for their inquiring minds to explore. . .everything. This STEM kit has 12 colorful slides to examine right away. The enclosed instruction manual describes all of the features very well. It has 4 levels of magnification from up to 1000x. It's a great fit for small hands. The side wheel makes it easy to adjust the focus for sharp images. It has a sturdy wrist strap to put your hand in while observing insects and plants. Kids can carry it around to look at anything that they can find like bugs or rocks. The digital display is bright and you can accurately see all the colors. The kids love to take pictures of everything as they explore. This, of course, uses up the memory very quickly. It would make sense to have more storage than 30 or 40 pictures. Very limiting and disappointing for the kids. An educational toy that's lots of fun. It's a great gift idea that encourages kids to develop interest in science

Excellent microscope for kids (and gardeners!)

Amazing gadget for looking at insects and figuring out which bugs are eating my garden plants! This device not only allows you to zoom in to whatever you are looking at, but take a picture of what is on the screen to save and look at later! There is space to put an SD card for greater storage capacity too, which is amazing! It's super comfy to hold thanks to the hand strap (like an old video recorder) and there is a light that you can turn on and off to see your specimens better. The zoom is the large yellow cylinder so it's perfect for little hands to use. It comes with slides to look at things like butterfly wings and such. Honestly this is my favourite find of the year - it's an excellent educational tool and it's a useful around the house tool too (e.g. identifying garden pests). Love this one.

My kids love this!

This is a great kit and my kids love it! The screen and lens quality are pretty good considering the target audience. It has 4 zoom settings and you can really get good clarity on the screen. The light is good, the transparent lens cover which can obviously be removed. The focus wheel is large and has the right amount of stiffness to allow steady focusing with small hands. The strap around the handle also allows kids to hold it like a camcorder to prevent it from being dropped. What I also love about this is that it comes with a number of slides with parts of plants, fish and insects sealed inside them. That's quite a lot of thought going into it. You can also place items inside the lens cover to view, which also helps with backlighting the objects. Image quality is good, you can save photos and videos to SD card. You can adjust the brightness and magnification levels and the battery life seems pretty good so far. Haven't tried the telescope mode yet so can't comment on that, but if I had any criticisms at all, I would say that a storage pouch would have been very handy, and also the buttons are very difficult to make out - they are small and it's almost impossible to see the icons embossed on them. Aside from that, this is great!

Simplistic packaging, but really impressive microscope

This microscope is deceptively simple in its packaging and design, but remarkably useful. Kids will absolutely love playing with this thing. It’s got a nice, easy to understand interface with a focus control on the side that’s easy for little hands to operate, and a bright, clear display screen to show in detail whatever it is you’ve decided to zoom in on. It comes with a variety of little sample plates to view, but it's more fun just moving around random objects at home. It looks like a toy but it’s surprisingly useful in what it can magnify. If you’ve ever owned anything you wish you could get a really good, close look at, this is worth trying out.

Awesome little microscope

Great little microscope for kids or adults! My nephew has been having fun looking at bugs up close and I am seeing my old coins in a new way. It's simple to use. It's USB-C rechargeable, press the power button and it boots up and the light come on. You can either place it on whatever you're looking at or place an item inside the container that doubles as a lens cover. There's a strap that goes around your hand and a large focus wheel on the other side so it's easy to carry with you and just point it at things. You have a button option to increase your magnification by 4x which is nice. Great value, reccomended!
